Kaleidoscope Tapestry
A Poem
Feathers of mosaic clouds
birdsong bursts into melody
bamboo windows weave light
tympani of pottery seek succulents
tender sanctuary
wild whisper of tender Wisteria tendrils
wisdom shaman dance rhythmic rain song
spin story like starred webs
driftwood drums of Orion like Mozart emerging from black holes
ripples of mystery appear like Kingfisher at the helm of her oruwa
pizzicato staccato soft violins and the tremble of treble clef ferns
Pterodactyl wing fossils in Mississippi River sands
remind us of the possibility of flight
twists of twilight sing stars like selenite gems
telescopes of light cast starry onyx galaxies
threads of silk spider waves like geometric clouds of magical mandalas
embrace us like the Milky Way.
BOTANICALS
As rare as lapis lobelia on the edges of creek beds
she splashes barefoot through rain dances of soft pink stones
I collect Gingko leaves of Appalachia in my pockets
she brews tea like memory in hourglass cups with bands of gold
as luminous Flower Moon illuminates the first of May
wild cosmos of us laugh like poets do
paper makers tenderly fold origami cranes and sing Beatles songs
My sister photojournalist collects Kodachrome polaroids of cheeky raccoons in Ohio
We write children’s books about the origins of whale songs and sloth bears
Imagine the impossible becoming possible
Bloom sacred beings bloom with the cadence of a Costa Rican red-eyed tree frog
who sing amidst Monteverde Cloud Forest.

“pizzicato staccato soft violins and the tremble of treble clef ferns”
“she brews tea like memory in hourglass cups with bands of gold”— the imagery is breathtaking, like a kaleidoscope dream or a hallucination that delights.
i especially love the vision of "wild whisper of tender Wisteria tendrils"
